About Kevin Eisses
I grew up in Stroud on our family farm, where my family has farmed in Innisfil since the 1960s.
Today, I’m a third-generation farmer, local business owner and two-term Ward 1 councillor.
I hold a B.Sc. in Agricultural Business from the University of Guelph. My experience in agriculture, business and eight years on Town Council has given me a perspective on both the rural and urban communities that make up our town.

Leadership Grounded in Experience
Eight years on Town Council have given me the opportunity to work on issues affecting both the rural and urban parts of our community,
including:
1. Balanced Rural and Urban Priorities
• Hosted an Agricultural Equipment Day explaining the needs of farmers who share our roads.
• Advocated to ensure the Yonge Street/9th Line roundabout accommodates agricultural equipment.
2. Fought to Keep Taxes Affordable
• Convinced Council to reduce the proposed 2026 tax increase to save you money.
3. Grew the Innisfil Heights Employment Area
• Worked to make the Innisfil Heights Master Drainage Study a 2026 priority.
• During my time on Council, we welcomed companies like DSV and Northern Transformer, which are expected to bring approximately 400 jobs to the area.
4. Revitalized infrastructure
• The Innisfil Farmers’ Market came to Stroud, Meadows of Stroud Park was revitalized, and work began to safely reopen Stroud Arena & Banquet Hall during my time on Council.
Working For You (2026–2030)
In a third term of WORKING FOR YOU, my goals would be to:
1. Strike a balance between our rural and urban priorities.
2. Manage the cost of maintaining Innisfil’s infrastructure and services while advocating for taxpayers.
3. Make roads a priority while addressing aging infrastructure and planning for the future of community assets.
4. Strengthen our employment tax base to ease the burden on our residential taxpayers.
5. Streamline Town planning/permitting and address infrastructure barriers.
6. Use technology to make it easier to do business in Innisfil.

In Our
Community
My Roots In Innisfil
Farming isn’t about plaid and pitchforks. It means watching weather and markets, understanding the land, adapting when conditions change and planning for the future. Those lessons
don’t disappear when I walk into the council chamber.
In fact, my expertise complements my work as a councillor; for example, I understand the drainage needs of both agricultural and residential property owners.
When asked what people like most about Innisfil, our small-town feel and agricultural landscapes are often at the top of their list, but that must be balanced with thriving economic growth that supports business owners and our community.

Environmental stewardship must protect our natural resources while recognizing the people who make their living from the land. I have the experience needed to strike a balance between the needs of the agricultural community and the demands of urban development.
As a volunteer with the Loaves and Fishes Growing Project, I am proud to be among those in support of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. When I travelled to Ethiopia on a Food Study Tour in 2016, I was enlightened by the strong sense of community while exchanging agricultural practices with others. While there were some cultural differences, I was reminded of how similar we are and experienced the same sense of community that is palpable in Innisfil, particularly among our community groups.
I understand the need for land use to change in order to fully support our community as the town grows. My extended family members and I are proud to support the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) South Campus, as the future site will sit on land that we’ve been privileged to farm in Innisfil. It’s an honour to think about how this land has supported my family and will support health care in our community for generations.

"The economic development report was intended to be received as information. But Eisses proposed an amendment that made the Innisfil Heights master drainage study a priority for this year, intending to review current challenges, identify options and provide recommendations for overall drainage in the area, as well as for private landowners. That’s an issue the town needs to take seriously, he suggested.'By allowing this property-by-property analysis of drainage in Innisfil Heights, we’re more or less asking business owners to become developers again,' Eisses said. 'They’ve already purchased property that’s in a development area, and to ask them to bring the standards up — which are needed in Innisfil Heights — to today’s levels from when it originally came forward 40 or 50 years ago, is a big ask.'"

Innisfil Heights Employment Area
Regarding Experience #3
"'This is our residents' money, and we have a surplus this year,' said Coun. Kevin Eisses at Wednesday's council meeting. "So, I can't, in good conscience, say, 'here's a 5.5 per cent tax increase.…' I can't face the residents with that.'"

Fought to Keep Taxes Affordable
Regarding Experience #2
"As the provincial and federal governments respond to the need for more housing, Coun. Eisses told InnisfilToday he is in favour of the development happening within the town, provided the rural needs of the community are respected.
Eager to share the challenges faced by farmers, Coun. Eisses said he was happy to participate in the educational initiative hosted by the Ontario Federation of Agriculture and the Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture in April 2023 at Hewitt Creek Farms where the town council and members of staff were invited to learn more about farm equipment and processes."
